What not to wear
It's so much easier to say what to avoid, rather than "what to wear". Basically, I like fun bright clothing, and I'm always trying to incorporate more color in to my portraits.
Say no to:
Stripes--they don't photograph well. This is particularly true for pinstripes.
Neutral colors can work outdoors, if you like those colors. Indoors, they may wash out your skin.
Glittery make-up--gives your skin white specks. This also goes for clothing. Sequins are fine, but the "glittery" stuff doesn't work.
For black and white pics: Bring along a white or black top.
Accessories: Bring 'em! I love hats, scarves, jackets, shoes...whatever you can find!
Consider a variety for your pictures: Maybe something dressy, something basic, and one or two trendy outfits.
Make-up: Basically, whatever you normally wear will be fine. Try to remember to bring along a little powder and lip gloss.
